When resources are limited… Make your own.

As I realized that obtaining Lego minifigs would be harder then anticipated I contemplated making a give away program in trade for custom minifigs. I decided I’d go the DIY route to insure my possibilities were endless. Here’s a few process pictures and some installed pictures. Shout out to my man Damon Abnormal Landry for giving me some drive and every one stay tuned because there are things in the works for you to own!! 20120224-212617.jpg

Leggggggooo

My childhood was amassed with bricks to build cities which only spawned from my imagination. Finally living in a real city I felt the need to bring my imagination to inhabit the streets by customizing my own childhood mini figures- Making an army of AirRat (bird) People. Each figure with their own identity, keeping watch over empty lots and forgotten walls. While the mind set in the graffiti world is to go big and make a name, I hoped to hide in the cracks waiting to make a connection with the passerby, often becoming the new property of the viewer and sometimes left to be enjoyed by the next. Sometimes purposefully left somewhere intimate waiting for that special person who dare to cuff me in their hand and shove me in their pocket like a found fifty dollar bill.

Here are a few pictures from my good friend DamonAbnormal check out his Flickr. My favorite shot is the one with the Bee! I have been asked frequently to sell or give away these custom mini-figs but due to the limited quantity I have and the cost of buying minifigs I couldn’t fulfill these requests. However, in the coming days I’ll be announcing a FREE give away opportunity for all interested parties! Stay tuned!
